Meet at The Reading Grounds
“The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry” by Rachel Joyce
At first glance Harold Fry is simply a sad, lonely Englishman living a monotonous life. One day Harold receives a letter from an old acquaintance, Queenie Hennessy. Queenie is dying in a hospice some 600 miles north of Harold’s home.
Reading the letter changed everything for Harold, as he sets out on a journey. As he walks his way to Queenie, he discovers things about himself and life. First, he learns he is stronger than he realized. SEcond, he discovers along the way what really matters in life.
This book is not just a book about lost love. It’s about discovering the importance of everyday small things, if we are willing to put one foot in front of the other.
The book club will meet November 25th, from 6:30pm-8pm.
Books will be available at the Reading Grounds for anyone interested in joining Book Club
Can’t make November’s book club gathering? No big deal. Join us on Monday, December 16th for “Skipping Christmas” by John Grisham
